Sketching with Charcoal
Our Sketching with Charcoal program is a full and comprehensive method of learning the important basics needed to execute mature sketches. The Beginning phase concentrates on building your sketching techniques from the rough draft to refined stage while incorporating accurate proportion, volume and composition of your sketches. The sketching references taught include a variety of still lifes, such as fruit and inanimate objects. This phase will help you graduate to shading principles so you can learn how to accurately express realistic 3-dimensionality, and is also the gateway to our Portrait Drawing program.
This curriculum is recommended for students who are interested in developing realistic drawing skills and are ready for a mature program. Below are some examples of the style taught.
